Executive Director- Arch Grants
Emily Lohse-Busch is the Executive Director at Arch Grants, an innovative nonprofit economic development organization that is working to build the future economy in St. Louis by attracting and retaining talented entrepreneurs to the region. Through the annual Global Startup Competition, Arch Grants awards between 15-20 $50,000 non-dilutive grants to early-stage companies who are willing to locate their business in St. Louis for a period of at least one year. In addition to financial support, Arch Grants provides its Recipients with pro-bono support from numerous local professional firms; connections to potential investors, customers and talent; and advice and guidance. To date, Arch Grants has funded 134 early-stage companies, 107 of which are still in business. Of those still in business, 86% are still located in St. Louis.
Before joining Arch Grants, Emily spent most of her career in the social sector in Chicago and Washington DC, where she worked with organizations around the world to build capacity, develop short- and long-term strategy and maximize stakeholder engagement. Emily received her undergraduate degree from Washington University and her MBA from DePaul University. Emily is a passionate advocate for St. Louis and the surrounding region, and lives in the Central West End with her husband and two sons.
