Susan Sherman

Co-Founder, St. Louis Fashion Fund

 

Susan Sherman is Chair Emeritus of the Saint Louis Fashion Fund, a non-profit which enriches St. Louis through the business of fashion. Located in the heart of the Garment District, at 1533 Washington Avenue, the Fund supports emerging designers, provides education to high school students interested in careers in fashion and design, and works with the City of St. Louis on the redevelopment of the old Garment District in downtown St. Louis.

Sherman is also Co-Founder of MERCH, an experiential retail concept, which was launched in April 2019. MERCH brings intriguing global brands in fashion, beauty, and home to St. Louis, and hopes to expand to other cities in the near future.

Sherman worked for over 30 years in public relations, special events, and fundraising, in Atlanta, New York, and Paris before moving to St. Louis in 1993. She has served on numerous boards including the Contemporary Art Museum (where she is a former Chair), Grand Center, COCA and American Ballet Theatre in NY.  She is a recipient of a 2006 Woman of Achievement Award, and Grand Center’s Visionary Award.

Sherman has a husband, David, and two children – Sylvie, who lives in New York and works for New York Magazine, and Keil, a Junior at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
